Rita Chan Interiors
Rita donahoe
OWNER / PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Rita is native to California, where she grew up in the north and eventually moved south to attend USC, graduating in Communications and Business in 2003. After 6 years of working in both the non-profit and corporate worlds, and while traveling the world at every opportunity, she found her truest calling in Interior Design. Rita then enjoyed 4 years working for a luxury residential design firm in Los Angeles and studying Interior Architecture at UCLA. In 2013 she established her own firm, Rita Chan Interiors and has since worked on a wide variety of projects from complete home furnishings, to full scale renovations and building homes from the ground up.
Rita has a penchant for a clean, natural aesthetic and creating a peaceful environment at home, while working collaboratively with clients to bring meaning, story and personality into every space. Celebration and honoring of the surrounding environment is also central to her work, as Rita and her team deeply believe that a close connection to the natural world is vital to living a beautiful life. This deep care for the environment lead Rita and her husband to create Good Ancestor Co, a passion project that connects people to sustainable design resources and offers goods that provide a daily connection to the earth.
You can find Rita and her team in Santa Barbara, California where they are influenced by the myriad of historic architecture, and are constantly exploring the abundance of natural surroundings for inspiration that will translate to timeless design.

When she’s not immersed in her work, Katelynn enjoys exploring the many thrift stores and flea markets in Ventura, where she finds inspiration for her jewelry-making endeavors. She cherishes her time at the beach with her pups and family, embracing the vibrant community around her.

Tess graduated from Pitzer College with a B.A. in Studio Arts and Economics, combining her artistic eye with an analytical approach to design. She began her career in photo styling, working in both studios and in 3D rendered interiors, before managing a vintage store where she led visual merchandising and styling.
